Women of Pahinungod: Stories of Services
A Volunteer Interview Series in Appreciation of Women Volunteers
Women have been central to Pahinungód’s work. Six of its seven directors have been women, and the majority of its volunteers are women who balance multiple roles—motherhood, employee, student, alumna—while contributing to both the program and the communities it serves.
In the March of 2025, to celebrate Women’s Month, the UPD Ugnayan ng Pahinungód will highlight the experiences and contributions of its women volunteers. The Women of Pahinungód initiative will document their stories through interviews, showcasing their impact and how volunteerism has shaped their lives. This initiative recognizes their efforts and hopes to inspire others in the UP community to serve.
Objectives of the Project
1. Celebrate Women’s Month – Honor and uplift women’s contributions in public service as part of the National Women’s Month celebration.
2. Recognize Contributions of Women Volunteers – Highlight the roles and impact of women volunteers in Pahinungód’s programs and community service efforts.
3. Share Stories of Service – Provide a platform for women volunteers to share their experiences, challenges, and insights on volunteerism.
4. Inspire Engagement – Encourage students, faculty, staff, and alumni to participate in volunteer work by showcasing the dedication of women volunteers.

A Continuation of the Interview Series
Although Women’s Month was celebrated three months ago, our recognition and appreciation for the incredible contributions of women should not be confined to just one month. This June, we are proud to continue our mini-series spotlighting outstanding women of Pahinungod. Through this continuation, we hope to honor their stories and reaffirm the importance of consistently recognizing the vital role women play in exemplifying the spirit of volunteerism and shaping our communities.
