Early morning of September 12, 2023, UPD Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Director Jowima Ang-Reyes, with authority from the Office of the President, flew from Manila City to Davao City to assist in the organization of the various events and meetings of the University of the Philippines, namely: the Consultation Meeting for the UP – Bangsamoro Development Program; the Investiture of the 22nd UP President; and the PAGTUTULAY, PAGTUTULOY: Strengthening Partnerships in Philippine Public Higher Education. Director Reyes was provided accommodations at Dusit Thani Residences by the Office of the President. Following her check-in at the hotel, Director Reyes provided her assistance to the organizing team, coordinating with local partners and suppliers for items and venue needs.
On September 13, 2023, Director Reyes attended the Consultation Meeting for the UP – Bangsamoro Development Program held at the Dusit Thani Residence Davao. The summit focused on the development of Bangsamoro, including the said region in the plans and strategic initiatives of the University of the Philippines.
On September 14, 2023, Director Reyes traveled to UP Mindanao to witness the Investiture of Atty. Angelo A. Jimenez. During the ceremony, Atty. Jimenez accepted the position and authority of leading the University of the Philippines as its 22nd President. Simultaneous with the Investiture Ceremony, UPD Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Junior Project Associates Gia S. Evangelista and Jeanne Marie C. Ascue, with authority from the Office of the President, flew from Manila City to Davao City to assist in the first SUC Summit. They booked accommodations at Go Hotel Lanang Davao. Following the Investiture Ceremony, Director Reyes attended the President’s Night to celebrate the successful investiture of President Jimenez. The celebration was held at the Dusit Thani Grand Ballroom.
On September 15, 2023, Director Reyes and Junior Project Associates Evangelista and Ascue arrived early morning at Dusit Thani Grand Ballroom and began assisting with preparations for the PAGTUTULAY, PAGTUTULOY: Strengthening Partnerships in Philippine Public Higher Education – a summit which brought together leaders of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) to inspire inter-SUC engagements in transdisciplinary academic, research, and public service programs.
During the first half of the day, Director Reyes coordinated with the various speakers and pointpersons, while the Junior Project Associates provided support to the Office of the President Staff as ushers and Front-of-House registration. During the afternoon session of the SUC Summit, Director Reyes continued overseeing the proceedings while the Junior Project Associates coordinated with Office of the President Staff for procurement and releasing of Certificates of Appearance, and later on, acted as documenters for the program.
Following the conclusion of the SUC Summit, the UPD Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Diliman Team flew back to Manila early morning of September 16th.
