Last December 1, 2023, UPD Ugnayan ng Pahinungod held a Volunteers Appreciation Day at the University Hotel to honor and celebrate the efforts of our dedicated volunteers and invaluable partners. The said event also serves as a commemoration of National Volunteer Month by highlighting the active participation of UPD Ugnayan ng Pahinungod volunteers, celebrating the Diliman office’s achievements for the year, and promoting camaraderie among the staff and volunteers.
With Junior Project Associate Ms. Maria Theresa D. Lucas as the emcee, the gathering began with opening remarks from Dir. Jowima Ang-Reyes. Afterwards, a game was facilitated by Junior Project Associate Ms. Jeanne Ascue and Project Staff Ms. Bianca Cipriano, RSW which involved the participants to act out tableaus related to volunteerism and UPD Pahinungod activities. This was followed by a presentation of UPD Pahinungod programs and accomplishments for the year 2023 by Dir. Reyes. Afterwards, Ms. Lucas called on Dr. Gino Angelo Velasco and Dr. Manuel Joseph Loquias to be awarded plaques of recognition as Outstanding Volunteers and former UPD Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Director Jocelyn T. Caragay for her invaluable contributions and exemplary leadership as the former Director.
The plaque awardings were then followed by a short dinner break. After the dinner, the program continued with the recognition of all active Pahinungod volunteers and partners for the year 2023, including twenty-eight (28) volunteers from the Psychosocial Support Program, eighteen (18) volunteers from the Affirmative Action Program, seven (7) volunteers from the Internal Support Committee, and friends of Pahinungod Dr. Daniel Mabazza and Ms. Diane Catibog from the Office of Admissions.
